Every now and then I do a shoot that I adore – a shoot where I leave feeling like it completely changed my photography, that I nailed every image… Well this was one of those! Just like Francois & Wendy, this was another session that was gifted by friends (if you’d like to know more about that please drop me an email)

Jean & Jody were magic in front of my camera. They were up for anything and Jean makes Jody laugh so easily that it was insanely easy to get great photos of them. I’ve said it a hundred times but when people are comfortable in front of my camera, great images happen… This shoot is just a great example of that!

I initially misunderstood Jean & Jody when they said they wanted to meet at Fort Klapperkop. I thought Fort Klapperkop was at the Voortrekker Monument – fortunately I found this incredible spot… The light was perfect, the couple was amazing and just before the shoot was done we drove over to the actual Fort Klapperkop to get some photos of the sunset and the city.

I LOVE Jody’s hair!

Me: “You know what would be really cool..?”
Jean: “If we climbed that tree?”
Me: “Would you mind?”
Jean: “Not at all! Come Jody, we’re climbing a tree”
(I love it when my clients trust my vision!)

Isn’t Jody’s ring just exquisite?? Jean had it specially designed for her – it’s made to look like two branches of a tree coming together. I could’ve spent a few hours photographing it 😛
